Hello! I am attempting to write an IEP goal for one of my 1st grade students. Singapore is new to me and I want to make a truly individualized goal for her. Any thoughts/ideas?

Hi Rebecca,

Thank you for your interest in my website and Singapore Math. The central idea behind Singapore Math is CPA Approach (Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract). We introduce new concepts by using concrete objects as teaching aids and then translate these concepts into pictorial representations and finally progress to the abstract stage. In Singapore and many countries which have adopted Singapore Math, it was found that CPA Approach greatly benefitted average and weaker students. Hope that helps.
