Variations of Multiplication Model


(a) When the number of groups is too large, you can draw just 1 box to represent the first group followed by an arrow and a number at the end of the arrow to represent the number of groups.


E.g. Ann has 45 packets of sweets. There are 8 sweets in each packet. How many sweets does Ann have altogether?





(b) Naming the parts of the model.


E.g. Ann has 8 balls. Bob has twice as many balls as Ann. How many balls does Bob have?
