Variations of Division Model


(a) When the number of groups is too large, you can draw just 1 box to represent the first group followed by an arrow and a number at the end of the arrow to represent the number of groups.

E.g. Ann has 360 sweets. She packed them equally into 45 packets. How many sweets are there in each packet?






E.g. Ann has 360 sweets. She packed them equally into packets of 8 sweets each. How many packets of sweets does she have in the end?






(b) Naming the parts of the model.

E.g. Bob has 16 balls. Ann has half as many balls as Bob. How many balls does Ann have?
